The Omaha World-Herald reports that the archdiocese looked into the accusations against the Rev. Theodore Richling, who died in December.

Richling was ordained in 1971 and served at several rural and urban parishes in northeast Nebraska.

A news release says the archdiocese received complaints against Richling last summer and informed the Douglas County Attorney’s Office.

Senior Jackson Richling and sophomore Ashley Scott know Judge Luther’s courtroom well because it’s the setting for many mock trial competitions.

Police say witnesses reported that the teen, who was driving a Dodge Caliber with only a learner’s permit, was racing a black sedan before he struck Richling as the man crossed the street.
