deep thought

He was supposed to call for unity, and I’m sure in what passes for deep thought in the shallow recesses of his mostly empty skull, he nailed it.

I’m not in position to provide an insightful answer — that would require some deep thought, in addition to a reasonable timeframe.

Its very existence is certainly meant as a reference to the Deep Thought supercomputer in Hitchhiker’s Guide, which is asked by galactic beings to proffer an answer to the “universal question” of “life, the universe, and everything,” only to come up with a baffling numerical answer after millions of years.
