"We had role models of women back in the day, like the gorgeous Marilyn Monroe, who was curvaceous, or models like Naomi Campbell, who are very tall and athletically built," she said.

Every design decision, she said, was filtered through a lens of sophisticated “sexiness,” from the vintage light fixtures to the suspended screens resembling juggling balls to the curvaceous banquettes and the murals painted by the artist Jean-Pierre Villafañe.

Inside is a delicate device that could’ve come from a Jules Verne novel — two oblongs of blown glass, each about the length of a human forearm, fused into a curvaceous, upside-down “T” and connected to some vintage electrical equipment.

When puffed up, they “created this really exaggerated shape, just incredibly curvaceous.”

“It launched itself like a bullet through the door. It was very shocking,” Curvaceous Lingerie owner Lauren Palmer told WZZM-TV.
