As someone who ordered a smoky, perfectly peppered pastrami on rye, with coleslaw, fries and a dill pickle with just the right snap to it, and dipped the crunchy corners of the rye bread into a smear of spicy mustard before each bite, sounds good to me.

The official Door County website calls them a "one-of-a-kind epicurean event," noting some other sides that aren't as often mentioned, from lemon wedges, coleslaw and bread to "fresh-baked Door County cherry pie" for dessert.

But to call it spicy coleslaw is not quite right either.

And to suggest it is merely a coleslaw variation, he added, “is like saying that vanilla ice cream and chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and Oreo ice cream are all basically the same thing.”

As far as her favorite dishes, she's partial to curry goat with rice and peas, coleslaw and fried plantain, which for her is "the epitome of home, one of the most comforting meals I make when I miss home and family."
