Officials have called upon anyone working and recreating in California lakes and rivers to clean, drain and dry their watercraft and equipment every time they are removed from a body of water.

The area, mostly patrolled by lifeguards on all-terrain vehicles and watercraft, does not have a lifeguard tower, according to Hawaii News Now.
