A little water never bothered the old swabbie.

“Hey, swabbie,” he said, “you’re squeezing too hard. I’m not one of your girlfriends.”

“What’s it look like, swabbie? Making octopus stew.”

“He’s never gonna call me swabbie again!”

That “lousy swabbie,” who turned out not lousy after all, laughed and came back with his own joke.
