Critics fear the wrong side of history; on social media, they fear the wrong side of fans rigged out with emojis.

In a reference last month to a California congressional election, the president warned without offering any evidence that “it’s all rigged out there,” an assertion he also made when campaigning in 2016.

“They are trying to steal another election. It’s all rigged out there. These votes must not count. SCAM!,” he tweeted.
