A native of New Hampshire, Leavitt studied communications and political science at Saint Anselm College, a Catholic college in her home state.

Sarah Binder, a political science professor at George Washington University, told The Washington Post that such a move would be “an absolute abdication of their constitutional power.”

“This is not an election that was about an ideological or policy-based shift or rejection of Breed,” said Jason McDaniel, a political science professor at San Francisco State University.

He had dreamed of studying political science at a prestigious Moscow university.
