Off-camera, I heard my daughter-in-law say: “mailPERSON.”

And you can understand why this is: MailPERSON, when spoken, sounds like “Male person,” which sort of defeats the purpose.

There’s someone who usually knows which houses are occupied and which are vacant: the mailperson.

A cool doorbell doesn’t help much if the mailperson doesn’t actually ring it.
