A nationwide hunting advocacy group is attempting to give the boot to a Washington wildlife commissioner for serving on another volunteer board.

The ambitious proposal to give the boot to gas guzzlers — an effort to combat climate change by slashing emissions by transportation — received final approval from state officials in August.

To give the boot its final shape, the leather is stretched by hand over the model before it is tacked down through the bottom of the boot.

It’s the latest in recall fever that’s sweeping the country, with groups of citizens trying to give the boot in record numbers to school board members, mayors and more than a dozen governors.

And now the nonprofit is preparing to give the boot to the public school, Excel Academy, in 2021 to make way for a charter school.
