One of the better-received inventions built with a Particle kit is “The Foobar,” an automated cocktail dispenser made out of an old Mr. Coffee machine.

Instead of saying you graduated with from the University of Foobar in 1990, just say that you graduated UofF.

While .bar has been requested by two others, I’m disappointed not to see .foobar in there.

One suggestion from the excellent Hydrogen Audio site is to use Foobar 2000 with the VLevel component: this is "a dynamic compressor which amplifies the quiet parts of music", which is what you want.

This custom is fading as more mailers get good editing capabilities, but one occasionally still sees things like this:      I've seen that term used on alt.foobar often.
