Pride in Seattle: 50th Anniversary Art Exhibit: Curated by Pride Youth interns and co-hosted by Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center and Seattle Pride, this First Thursday Art Walk exhibit showcases work from local queer artists honoring the 50th anniversary of Seattle Pride celebrations, right in the heart of where the first Pride in Seattle took place.

The 50th anniversary celebration includes a timeline of Seattle’s queer history, a permanent commemorative site in Pioneer Square; a Beneath the Streets queer history tour; a Studio 54 Ball in collaboration with Strike a Pose; and a 50th anniversary queer youth art exhibit, “The Pride in Seattle,” on June 6, curated by Pride youth interns.

On June 7, Fifi Dosch hosts “a kind of on the hush-hush” but “very trans, very kinky comedy show and art exhibit” at a secret Van Nuys locale dubbed the Greenhouse.

The official Seattle Pride organization is planning multiple art-related events in June, including its “50th Anniversary Art Exhibit” curated by queer youth of color as part of a paid internship program in collaboration with Seattle’s LGBTQ+ Center.

Other cancellations in the name of safety have taken place across the country, from Indiana University shutting down an art exhibit by Palestinian artist Samia Halaby to the University of Vermont canceling an in-person appearance by a pro-Palestinian poet .
