You can choose to walk the shore at San Pedro Bay or the paved walkway at the top of the beach to Belmont Pier.

Start your day hiking southeast along the shore of Huntington City Beach for a mile and Huntington State Beach for an additional 2.5 miles, or along the paved walkway at the top of the beach, heading toward the Santa Ana River.

The paved walkway will end, and you can stroll through the neighborhoods one block from the beach, returning to the walkway at 36th Street, or continue on the beach all the way to Newport Pier.

The fig and avocado trees were pruned a bit to provide as much sun as possible for the garden; a round steel trellis was installed on a walkway to support a thriving passion fruit vine; a guava hedge was cut back to create room for a blackberry patch and fruit trees such as white nectarine and pomegranate; and thick mulch was laid around the walkways to deter weeds.
