The other Cabinet officials chosen so far have been typical Trump toadies and henchmen: Former congressman John Ratcliffe, who was acting director of national intelligence under Trump, will lead the CIA; South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem will take over DHS; and former Rep. Lee Zeldin will be EPA chief.

But she correctly notes that Senate negotiators reached a bipartisan agreement on immigration reform — and Trump persuaded congressional toadies to block the bill so he could run on the divisive issue.

And today’s toadies, worshipers and opportunists may have some explaining to do to their descendants.

“Trump toadies are going to attack the jury and the court because they have a plan to dismantle our democracy and it relies on everyone believing the justice system is rigged,” posted Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn.

But for his toadies, the stance is awkward, to say the least.
