A father and son who "recruited" a woman from the US in a plot to kill a Birmingham shopkeeper have been jailed.

Ms Betro allegedly attempted to shoot the shopkeeper's son during the attack, at a home in South Yardley on 7 September 2019, but the gun jammed.

The shopkeeper would later plead guilty to selling fireworks to Dunne, an underage boy.

“I went to a shop yesterday in my neighborhood — the shopkeeper and a student were both talking in favor of nuclear weapons,” he said.

A young shopkeeper, who had been rostered off at the time of the attack, says she is now scared to come to work.
