East Dunbartonshire Council agreed in 2021 that the school have a full refurbishment, but the project was shelved this summer due to rising costs.

The council said its officers conducted daily checks of the building and has committed to further improvements until a refurbishment can be funded.

While it will be up to the club to fund any new stadium or refurbishment, the mayor said it was possible some taxpayer cash could go into infrastructure for the new neighbourhood in the future, to help build transport links.

The original chandeliers were sent out for refurbishment.

The company is involved in 69 government projects including work on prison refurbishment for the Ministry of Justice, according to data analysts Barbour ABI.
