Lots of energy and water are needed to cool the exhaust streams, a requirement that has limited adoption of CO2 capture in some of the most polluting industries.

Wessex Water has been fined £500,000 for polluting two rivers and killing thousands of fish.

“It was a time of intense deregulation of a heavily polluting industry and efforts to derail clean-air and water protections,” said Adrian Martinez, senior attorney with Earthjustice.

This is money to help developing nations move away from fossil fuels and other polluting activities.

“But if what the 1 percent — or the very tiny fraction of people able to travel on private aircraft — is doing is not relevant, then obviously nothing is relevant because everybody else will just point at this tiny group and say, ‘Look, they are polluting much more than I do.’”
