On Sunday, Malibu community activist and blogger Cece Woods wrote in a post on the social platform X that rumors had been “heavily circulating” that Luna “could potentially step down as the head of the largest sheriff’s department in the country due to health concerns,” adding that “multiple sources say Parkinson’s disease.”

People in the clinical at-risk groups include anyone with conditions that affect breathing, some heart conditions, kidney or liver disease, diabetes and some conditions that affect the brain or nerves, such as Parkinson's disease, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis or cerebral palsy.

In a statement, his family said he passed away on Saturday evening after a "courageous battle" with Parkinson's disease and dementia.

Rachael Evans, 37, said the lack of care given to her grandmother was "unbelievable" - including giving her penicillin despite an allergy and diagnosing her with cancer and Parkinson's disease without informing the family.
