The “Megalopolis” and “Despicable Me 4” star said she waited for Musk to say he was just kidding, but he did not.

This year has seen other daring projects from aging filmmakers who have experimented with cinematic form and function on their own terms — including Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis,” and Kevin Costner’s “Horizon.”

The latter is a particularly bold choice to mention, when Coppola’s current self-financed film Megalopolis is being regarded as one of the biggest box office flops of all time.

The major studios wouldn’t touch “Megalopolis,” the ambitious passion project from octogenarian Oscar-winner Francis Ford Coppola.

“Megalopolis” premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May to a long standing ovation but mixed reviews, with some praising the scope and ambition and others calling it a jumbled mess.
