Loafers Lodge, a four-storey emergency housing hostel in the capital, burned down on 16 May killing five people.

A blaze broke out on the top floor of the Loafers Lodge in the suburb of Newtown in the early hours of Tuesday, causing major structural damage that is hampering recovery efforts.

Officials said up to 20 people were still missing after Tuesday's fire at the Loafers Lodge hostel in Wellington.
