Individuals can deposit money to a hawala broker in one country, and a recipient withdraws it from a broker in another country, using a code.

In collaboration with fellow co-lead author, Jamil P. Bhanji, PhD, of Rutgers University, the study highlights that low confidence in task performance significantly motivates individuals to seek corrective feedback, which in turn enhances learning outcomes.

They developed a polygenic risk score, based on the genome association scan, and applied it to a separate dataset of 347,585 individuals in UK Biobank.

Ancient DNA provides a direct look at the genomes of individuals who lived closer in time to these events, allowing researchers to observe evolutionary changes before they were lost.

"We show that adult social play in chimpanzees can foster a range of cooperative behaviors, from dyadic interactions to complex, risky activities requiring the coordination of multiple individuals," says Liran Samuni of the German Primate Center in Göttingen, Germany, and the Taï Chimpanzee Project in Côte d'Ivoire.
