While Allred accused Cruz of hypocrisy over Jan. 6 and failing to address the material hardships faced by everyday Texans, Cruz, a slick and experienced debater who appeared to find his match in Allred, called the Democratic lawmaker and former NFL linebacker a radical who would just be another rubber stamp for a potential President Kamala Harris.

A witty and brilliant debater, he did not always show the best judgement.

The Minnesota governor, who’d warned the Harris campaign before his selection as running mate that he wasn’t a very good debater, was reportedly all nerves and anxiety in the days leading up to the debate.

Ryan, appearing on Slate’s “What Next” podcast, told host Mary Harris that Vance is a seasoned debater, who will employ the same tactics he’s used on the campaign trail to get ahead on the debate stage.

Vance's nasty accusations may not play as well against "the coach," who is apparently a pretty solid debater himself.
