Perdue, one of the country’s largest poultry producers, now owns Sonoma County's famous Petaluma Poultry, and Colombian agri-business Alpine Foods owns 70 percent of Clover Sonoma.

She finally found some independence by launching her own imprint, Clover Music — a joint venture with Warner Records — in 2017.

Milo Clover, 18, who got an A* in biology and A grades in chemistry, computer science and physics, said: "It is two years of hard work and stress that has finally paid off."

And in the near future, she said, retailers with Clover and Verifone point-of-sale terminals will start recognizing the state’s digital license.

"She has been eating a mix of berries and clover on the edge of the Jasper Park Lodge golf course," the park said.
