A tamandua, or collared anteater, with prizefighter arms and curved claws that break open termite mounds, tried to ignore a car full of onlookers.

John Oates was revealed to be the Anteater on Wednesday’s episode of ‘The Masked Singer.’

Despite often being compared to pigs and South American anteater, aardvarks are not related to them.

Disguised as an overalls-wearing anteater, Oates was voted off the Fox show this week after performing a rendition of Chuck Berry’s hit “Johnny B. Goode.”

“They were trying to make a connection between ‘Maneater’ and Anteater, but no one else seemed to get that for some reason, which I found kind of surprising,” he said.
