✅ Pace refers to a rate of movement or progress (The course progressed at a relaxed pace).
✅ Clip refers to a rate of movement, progress, and time (The ship traveled at a particularly fast clip).
✅ Pace and clip both refer to the particular speed at which something moves, but they can also refer to quick movement, fast growth, or similar (He moved toward the restaurant at a pace; The tower was being built at a clip).
✅ Call means to refer to someone by a particular name or nickname (My name is William, but I always ask people to call me Will).
✅ Address means to refer to someone by a particular title or name when talking to them (It was strange to address my boss as ‘Admiral’ after his promotion).
✅ Call is more general and less formal (I tend to call people by their last names). Address means to use a requested name or title when talking to that person and suggests formality (You can address His Lordship as ‘sir,’ if you wish).
✅ Voyage refers to a long period of traveling, often on a ship, but not exclusively (We went on a voyage around the world).
✅ Cruise refers to an often shorter period of traveling in a ship, especially for pleasure (To me, a cruise is a wonderful vacation).
✅ A voyage is generally a journey from one place to another for pleasure, work, exploration, or travel, and it may be relaxing, fun, or dangerous (A dangerous voyage into unknown waters).
✅ A cruise is generally for pleasure and will often end in the same place it began after having stopped at various ports (The cruise took us to lots of different islands).
