During an Easter Sunday visit to the Church of God of East Flatbush, Mr. Adams cited a biblical passage that describes a test of courage under duress.

Ireland, the author who gives voice to tech-savvy 12-year-old Avon Starros in “A Test of Courage,” a novel for young readers, said: “I think it’s normal, especially for fans of color, to want to see themselves. But it’s also just normal to have a very diverse cast of people. I think the more we realize that’s just how it should be because that’s how the world is, the less we’ll find that as something to be pearl-clutching about.”

Early literature released in the "High Republic" series will include a young adult novel called "Into the Dark" by Claudia Gray, a middle grade novel called "A Test of Courage" by Justina Ireland, an adult novel called "Light of the Jedi" by Charles Soule, and comic book series published with IDW Publishing and Marvel.

Given the bright red line that Trump has so enthusiastically crossed this week, the question of whether to continue supporting him - either assertively or through inappropriate silence - is no longer merely an indicator of party loyalty or policy priorities; it has become a test of courage, character and fundamental decency.

He added that it was a test of courage “against and with a very diverse group of other humans with beliefs and viewpoints much different than mine.”
