A water main break damaged several businesses Monday morning after flooding an area off Melrose Avenue.

The city had to shut off potable water to residents at midnight after a water main broke, officials said.

Many residents also worry it’s been exacerbated by poor drainage and repeated water main breaks.

Leung insists the city has found no lead components in publicly owned lines that run from the water main to the sidewalk, or in customer-side pipes that run from the sidewalk to the building.
