Uber launched the freight division in 2017 and acquired logistics firm Transplace in 2021 for $2.25 billion.

That came after Uber Freight’s purchase of Transplace last year for $2.25 billion.

Revenue at the San Francisco company more than doubled to $8.07 billion, bolstered by a change in the business model for its UK mobility business and the acquisition of Transplace by Uber Freight.

Uber Freight, which acts as a middle man connecting truckers with shippers, last year bought logistics company Transplace for $2.25 billion.

Transplace will be acquired by Uber Freight, which is Uber's trucking unit.
