It was hard to tell from Burr’s monologue, which started with a story about getting the flu with a thrown-in ethnic slur: “You’re trying to figure out who gave it to you. You’re going through this Rolodex of people that coughed on you, sniffed near you, walked by an Asian or something.”

Beverly: “Getting everyone’s perspective and point of view. People have more stories to tell from different times. It gives an interesting dynamic.”

“You could tell from how she sounded it was a life-threatening situation,” remembers Jason.

And she’s a beautiful person too, as you could tell from her acceptance speech, which managed to be both sincere and sharp in a mere minute.
