That location closed March 7 under a stop-work order from Kirkland’s fire inspectors — the third in two years — due to a kitchen hood fire suppression system that violated regulations.

The discord grew in February, when the county issued an emergency stop-work order at the site by Fairmount Elementary School and Pathfinder Kindergarten Center.

The stop-work order issued by the county last month accused the yard of zoning and noise violations.

Earlier this month, the school district accused OMA Construction of flouting the county’s stop-work order by continuing some operations at the yard.

But the yard’s owner appealed the stop-work order this week, on the same day that school officials accused the company of violating the county’s order and eroding trust by continuing some operations at the site.
