Throughout your career, you’ve used your platform to champion so many causes, HIV and AIDS, and you’ve spoken out about your love for Jamaica.

As someone born in Saint-Marc, Haiti, who moved to the U.S. when she was 7, her platform now — and its potential for good, whether it’s escapism or speaking out — is a bright spot.

“We want workers to speak out against bad employers because it benefits everybody,” she said.

The review, which focused on the period from 2008 to 2020, came after several gymnasts spoke out about bullying - with allegations of athletes being punished for needing the toilet.

Helen says this, and the fear of reprisal, stopped her from speaking out for more than three decades.
