Allen remembers a meeting with a couple of executives who played one of the group’s songs over a sound system in a conference room.

But on this arena stage, with it’s made-for-television sound system, many of those have seemed over-the-top theatrical and just plain loud to at-home viewers.

The coalition already has experienced some pushback from city officials over the planned protests, first over the group’s permitting and then about a sound system.

He added, “It’s a logical progression of technology, but it has brought about challenges to community noise because now you have very large, powerful sound systems that can reproduce a wide range of frequencies.”
