The Washington Sängerbund, a German singing society founded in 1851, used to rehearse at a hall on Eleventh Street.

On Saturday at 7:30 p.m., holiday songs from 1850 to 1950 will be performed by members of the Bond Street Euterpean Singing Society; $20, $10 for members.

The theme continues on Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. with a holiday party featuring period cocktails and canapés as well as holiday songs from the ’50s performed by members of the Bond Street Euterpean Singing Society.

A German singing society was negotiating for the building at the same time, and had offered a higher price than the friends of the Mission thought they could give.

As an instance of the respect all classes have for our work, while we were negotiating for this property a German Singing Society also wanted it.
