Rockwell and star Teyana Taylor open up about their ‘heartbreak letter’ and Sundance prizewinner ‘A Thousand and One,’ opening Friday.

A prizewinner and a New York Times bestseller, poet Zamora’s book describes his migration — alone — from El Salvador to the U.S. at the age of 9, to be reunited with his parents.

The movie was directed and co-written by Nuri Bilge Ceylan, a frequent Cannes prizewinner who won the Palme for 2014’s “Winter Sleep.”

But don’t expect the top prizewinner or any of the other awards to be his choices alone.

The opening-night film is the documentary “Kokomo City,” a prizewinner at the recent Sundance Film Festival.
