Six people appeared before the District of Columbia Superior Court on Tuesday alone to face charges of crowding, obstructing or incommoding.

The tweet added that police charged the seven protesters who refused to clear the street with a misdemeanor violation of “crowding, obstructing, or incommoding” traffic.

Thirty-five people were arrested for crowding, obstructing or incommoding, a D.C. code often cited when arresting protesters during peaceful, planned and coordinated actions of civil disobedience such as the demonstration on Tuesday.

Capitol Police said that they made a total of 35 arrests for crowding, obstructing or incommoding, which included arresting 17 members of Congress.
