Nelly and Ashanti, expecting their first child, are officially husband and wife after quietly marrying late last year, according to a legal documents database.

His complaint, obtained Wednesday by The Times, said that he and Prepon, both 44, had “suffered irreconcilable differences” and “are unable to live together successfully as husband and wife.”

The latter, from husband and wife duo Mister & Mischief, takes its cues from works such as “Encyclopedia Brown” and “Nancy Drew,” casting adults in the role of kid detectives.

“I’ve had cases where the couple was together for over twenty years, cohabitating, referring to each other as husband and wife, but this meant very little when one partner needed a guardian and then passed away. The other partner had no say in these legal proceedings, as they had no legal relationship,” said Fresard.

The concept of “coverture,” as legal commentator William Blackstone opined, made “the husband and wife … one person under law.”
