The Virginian-Pilot reports that Jordan Lee Grinnell, a chief engineman in the Navy, entered the plea Thursday to a misdemeanor assault charge.

Akiree Pointer, an engineman fireman recruit from Arlington, Texas, was found on the USS John C. Stennis and showed no obvious and apparent cause of death.
