Harris’ rescue effort comes after progressives urged their colleagues to get in line behind Biden, with Congressperson Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accusing Biden’s critics of wanting to toss out the entire ticket, including Harris.

The far-right has previously been quick to falsely blame tragedies on trans individuals, including Arizona Congressperson Paul Gosar’s 2022 lie that the Uvalde shooter was a “transsexual leftist illegal alien.”

“Not for myself, but for the voters across the 13th District who deserve a real choice in who their next Congressperson will be.”

A case in point is my congressperson, Rep. Jared Huffman of California, a Democrat whose name is on the list but doesn’t belong there.
