Heather Thomas arrived at a Santa Monica restaurant and ordered a cheeseburger and a margarita — “top shelf tequila,” she whispered to the waiter.

Now they aren’t climbing as quickly, but people are left contending with the reality that rent, cheeseburgers, running shoes and day care all cost more.

The proud grandmother revealed that she told magazine staffers she did not want retouching done on her SI Swimsuit photos — even dishing that she had a cheeseburger the day before her shoot.

“It was just a year ago I was eating cheeseburgers out of garbage cans and living in Motel 6.”
