Tsar Nicoulai was actually born in the USA, a stroke of marketing brilliance by a pair of Swedish San Franciscans after they discovered the Cali-forward branding for their fledgling caviar company, California Sunshine, Inc., wasn’t getting anywhere.

Alongside the costumes and cinematography soaked in California sunshine and cigarette smoke each 30-minute episode flies by.

The logo, which borrows its future-facing look and design — a stylized “26” set behind the World Cup trophy — from FIFA’s global brand, uses a bold palette of yellow, red and blue that represent the Southern California sunshine, stars and beaches.
