The busline ceased operations in 1978.

Last week the U.S. busline business honked and roared with excitement as the nation's biggest highway transport system came sailing out of its best year, and eight other lines banded together, opened up their managerial throttles in a daring effort to overtake the leader.

With an almost audible sigh of relief, the Court ignored the constitutional issues, confined itself to the Justice Department's argument, and last week decided by a vote of 7 to 2 that the terminal restaurant, even though privately owned, was an integral part of the busline's services.

"Pop" Haselwood, 44. started out as a Northwest farmer and lumberjack, bought a Ford in 1916, put it in tip-top shape, ran a one-man, one-car busline.
