He was arrested in Dublin city centre after using a Revolut bank card linked to his phone, which was allegedly found at the crime scene in Belfast.

Following the murders, the defendant went into Chelmsford city centre and purchased plastic gloves and sleeping bags on her father's bank card.

"I’d have my bank card taken off me if one of the animals were ill so I couldn’t take them to the vet," she said.

The defendant, who is originally from Lithuania, further denied charges of arson being reckless as to whether life would be endangered and the theft of a bank card belonging to his 37-year-old sister.

"I tried to buy a ticket on the platform and the machine wouldn’t accept my bank card," she told the BBC.
