I’m always thinking about a business that is experience-based where we’re bringing together farming, a bake shop and having experiences in food based around that and based around our family spending time together.

The company also operates AJ Spurs steakhouses, Cracked Crab seafood restaurants, Crumbles Café & Bake Shop and multiple other California restaurants near the coast.

Since 2001, the couple have owned multiple businesses across the tourist town, according to prosecutors, who said they now own a hotel and three restaurants: Original Jack’s Country Kitchen, Mrs. T’s Chinese Kitchen and Avalon Bake Shop and Original Antonio’s Pizzeria and Deli.

Crumbs Bake Shop, which helped fuel the cupcake craze of the same period with its oversize offerings, went public in 2011 with an initial valuation of $66 million — and three years later went bankrupt, closing more than 50 shops.

After graduating, he left for the D.C. area in 2010 and worked as a cake decorator at Fluffy Thoughts Cakes followed by Crumbs Bake Shop.
