Lii is Chinese-born, has ateliers in Shanghai and Paris and is now based in Antwerp, Belgium.

One part of that journey was establishing a design atelier outside of Paris eight years ago, where up to 70 craftspeople may be working at any given time.

Other Lives calls itself a “redesign atelier,” which highlights its intentions to elevate old clothes to look as striking and experimental as couture, at a minimal cost to both the wearer and the environment.

The atelier’s origins stem from Tirelli’s passion for collecting antique clothing.
