The show is about a mysterious phenomenon in which angel-like creatures start appearing before people, telling them that they’re bound for hell.

When Okoyomon, who lives in Brooklyn, returned to Europe for the opening five months later, the vines had grown exponentially and nearly enveloped the six human-size yarn and lamb’s wool sculptures of angel-like figures that the artist had built and installed around the space.

Her tattoo skills have blossomed — she can draw life-like portraits on calves using a technique called stippling; a single tattoo of angel-like wings on a back can be made of millions of dots.

Inside was Phra Chai Mongkol, an angel-like figurine that resembles a Hindu deity and protector, holding a sword in one hand and a bag of money in the other.

The book is narrated by an unnamed artist’s “muse,” an incorporeal angel-like being that’s assigned to watch over artists.
