bed
The previous Word of the Day was acostarse, to go to bed, which you normally do en la cama, in bed. Notice how Spanish uses the article la:
Está en la cama con una gripe tremenda.
He’s in bed with a terrible flu.
When you have to make your bed, the verb is the one you might expect: hacer.
Después de hacer la cama salí corriendo.
After making my bed I left the house in a rush.
Meterse en la cama means to get into bed.
Tomó un baño caliente antes de meterse en la cama.
She had a hot bath before getting into bed.
