Long Beach-based Mexican restaurant El Barrio Cantina is donating all of its sales made through its Órale!

Menu to Órale, an immigrant-led movement fighting to end the criminalization of immigrant communities.

What it does: Órale is currently providing its immigrant community members in Long Beach with legal resources and bagged groceries with further resources to be added in the coming days.

People snacked on chips and pan dulce and admired photo collages from Alatorre’s life and career pasted onto poster boards that also featured favorite Alatorre sayings: “Let me begin by beginning ...” “Órale.”

One was Thomas “Wino” Grajeda, who mailed a letter to Madrigal that began, “Órale Martin, just these few lines your way hoping that they find you well, considering that things have somewhat gone to your head.”
