The “So What” and “Raise Your Glass” singer has momentarily put her tour on hold, announcing over the weekend that she has pushed back shows in Lincoln, Neb.;

“I was born in West Point, Neb., and lived in Butte, a small town of 400 where community was a way of life,” said Walz, 60.

The problem, for Republicans, is that Walz, a folksy, straight-talking politician who grew up in Valentine, Neb., has many qualities that veer outside stereotypes of the progressive Democratic urban elite: He is a veteran who served in the Army National Guard for 24 years.

The Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha, Neb., and the Pérez Art Museum Miami have also quietly put plans to stage Wiley’s work on hold.
