Gunmen on motorbikes have shot dead 22 people, most of them attending a baptism ceremony, in an attack on a village in western Niger, reports say.

Both saw people arriving on motorbikes, and Ms Pandey said these people appeared older than average Gen Z protesters.

Mr Alekari collected the motorbike on Thursday - although as his passport and licence were also stolen, paperwork will keep him on two feet, not two wheels, for a few weeks yet.
