Led by researchers at the University of Maryland and Cornell University, the study charts temperatures across WASP-18b, a massive gas giant classified as an "ultra-hot Jupiter" located 400 light-years from Earth.

Objects in the Taurid stream orbit the sun seven times for every two orbits of Jupiter.

It also sheds light on similar processes occurring around other magnetized worlds, including Jupiter and Saturn, expanding our grasp of how planetary environments evolve across the solar system.

“We gave out cup of soups, bags of chips, candy last year and all the soups and bags of chips were gone and still had some candy left,” wrote Jupiter Roze on Facebook.

Scientists have long theorized that Jupiter's four large moons -- Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto -- originated from a similar disk surrounding the young planet billions of years ago.
